Dunamis International Gospel Centre — 30th Anniversary 1996–2026
Our Story

Our story: 30 years of God’s faithfulness

How one fast on a mountain near Jos became a church that fills a 100,000-seat dome.

It started with one instruction

Go to Abuja and start a gospel outreach. That was it. Everything you see today grew out of a young couple saying yes.

Thirty years on, and still going.

How it began

Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr. Becky, were both working in hospitals at the time, and thinking about further study in London. She fasted and prayed as well, and she came to the same conclusion.

The first outreach held that July, in the banquet hall of the Agura Hotel. They left their jobs and moved to Abuja, and for 13 months home was one room in Zone 7.

What we believe we’re here to do

Dunamis is the Greek word for power, from Acts 1:8.

Our vision

Restoring people

The restoration of human destinies and dignity by the administration of the benefit of redemption, through the ministry of the word and the demonstration of power.

Our mission

Filling the earth

Saturating the earth with kingdom people, principles, power and presence.

Our goal

Evidence everywhere

A member everywhere people work or live, as evidence of God’s saving, healing, liberating, lifting and transforming power.

Principles

You can hear the gospel

So we teach the word plainly, in a way people can live by.

Presence

You can feel the gospel

So we make room for God’s presence, in worship and in prayer.

Power

You can see the gospel

In people healed, delivered and lifted. That’s what the word dunamis means to us.

Under canopies, then a 700-seater

A colleague offered land behind the old Federal Secretariat in Area 1 for temporary use. We worshipped under canopies for six weeks. By the first anniversary we had a 700-seat auditorium, with people still sitting outside.

That auditorium was expanded twice, to more than 10,000 seats. The Gospel Power Team took the message outdoors, to Eagle Square, the old parade ground and the national stadium.
